π§ Rackspace Email Changes Frequently Asked Questions
π Whatβs Changing?
Effective April 1, 2026, pricing for Rackspace Email accounts changed as follows:
- 1GB Email: $3.00 β $12.00 per account
- 5GB Email: $3.75 β $15.00 per account
- 25GB Email: $7.50 β $30.00 per account
If your business is still using Rackspace Email through our managed service, these updated rates now apply.
π§Ύ What happened?
Rackspace recently introduced significant changes to their email platform pricing with limited notice.
- We sent communication to affected customers on February 26
- We explored options to extend the timeline, but that was not available
- As a result, we are transitioning away from Rackspace as a managed email service as of 12/31/26
Our goal was to notify you as quickly as possible so you could make the best decision for your business.
β Why is MI4P moving away from Rackspace email?
While the pricing change is a key factor, we have also seen an increase in email-related issues over time.
Rather than continue with a platform that is becoming more costly and less reliable, we believe itβs best to guide clients toward more stable, flexible options.
π What are my options?
You have two main options moving forward:
1. Move to Your Own Rackspace Account (Simplest Option)
- No migration needed
- Your email stays exactly the same
- You take over billing and support directly with Rackspace
π This is the quickest and least disruptive option
2. Move to Another Email Provider
- Examples: GoDaddy, Microsoft 365, local IT provider, or your own Google Workspace
- You would work directly with that provider for setup and migration
π This option gives you full flexibility
π Will my domain need to be moved?
No.
This change only affects your email service.
Your domain and website can remain exactly where they are.
π² Can I switch to a smaller or cheaper plan temporarily?
No.
The plans previously offered through our service are no longer available, and we are not able to move accounts between legacy plan options.
π§Ύ Why did my invoice increase?
If your email service remained on Rackspace after April 1, 2026, your invoice reflects the updated pricing shown above.
We understand this may impact your current setup and are here to help you explore alternative options.
πΈ Can I get a refund?
Refunds are not available for Rackspace email services. We shared advance notice of these changes and encouraged clients to let us know by March 31, 2026 if they planned to transition.
If your service remained on Rackspace after that date, the updated pricing now applies. Weβre here to help you move to another option at any time.
