Overview

This article provides a guide on using the Combine Products into One Box feature in ShipLeap settings to optimize shipping costs. This feature allows printers to combine multiple products into one shipment based on weight limits, minimizing shipping fees.

Enabling the 'Combine into One Box' Feature

  1. Access ShipLeap Settings:
    • Go to Control Center > My Website > E-Commerce Settings.
    • Click on the ShipLeap Connection tab.
  2. Shipping Preferences Section:
    • Locate the Shipping Preferences section.
    • Toggle the option "Lower shipping costs by combining products into a single shipment" to ON (green) if you want multiple products in an order to be combined into as few boxes as possible.

Setting Maximum Combined Box Weight

  • The default box weight limit is set to 70 lbs.
  • To change the weight limit:
    1. Enter a new value in the Maximum combined box weight field.
    2. Click Save to apply the new limit.

Note: This change will only affect new orders. Existing orders will not be impacted by updated weight limits.

How It Works

ShipLeap will calculate the total weight of products in an order and determine the number of boxes required based on:

  • Individual product weights (as entered in the Shipping Weight tab for each product).
  • The maximum combined box weight entered in the ShipLeap settings.

If the total weight of all products in an order exceeds the limit, ShipLeap will split the items across multiple boxes.

Important Considerations

  • Ensure product weights are correctly configured in the Shipping Weight tab of the order forms to receive accurate shipping rates.
  • Any order form needing shipping calculations at cart checkout must have the appropriate weights assigned.

Example Use Case

A customer orders 3 different products, each weighing 20 lbs. With the maximum combined box weight set to 70 lbs, all three products will be shipped in one box, as the total weight is 60 lbs. If the total weight exceeds the box limit (e.g., 80 lbs), ShipLeap will use two boxes to accommodate the items.

This feature is part of our efforts to help printers optimize shipping logistics and reduce costs by leveraging the enhanced shopping cart functionality within ShipLeap.
