04 - Order Forms: An Overview
Getting Started
Table of Contents
Your website includes prebuilt order forms that you can customize, along with tools to create your own order forms from scratch. You can make an order form available to everyone or restrict a private reorder form to specific users.
This page introduces prebuilt and custom order forms. The next three articles in the ‘Getting Started Series’ explain how to work with them in more detail.
Starter Forms
Starter Forms are pre-built and active when your website launches. You can turn them on or off and edit the options shown to printbuyers. They include common product choices offered by major online print providers, giving your printshop a starting point for online ordering.
Best for:
- Getting your website ready to use quickly
- Creating opportunities to sell printing that might otherwise have passed you by
Fully Custom Order Forms
In addition to the starter forms that are already a part of your website, you also have the ability to build your own order forms. We have some easy form-building tools available that allow you to add your own questions, options, instructions and more...and you don't have to know anything about website programming to quickly build great order forms!
Best for:
- Creating order forms tailored to the needs of specific clients
- Presenting order forms with more options than may be available on the system forms
- Making order forms for any non-printing products you might sell
Public and Private
Order forms can be public or placed in a private Reorder Form Library. Any visitor to your website can access a public form. A private reorder form is available only to the individuals or group you designate.
For example, if Sample Company Inc. regularly orders business cards, you can create a private reorder form that only its designated users can access. Learn more in the Private Reorder Forms article.
The next step
Now that you have an overview of how the order forms work on your site, let's delve deeper into the system forms. Our next article takes a look at how system forms can be customized, activated and displayed to the customer.
