If your uDesignIt template preview is showing a “No Image” placeholder along with a font error, this guide will walk you through how to resolve it.

🔍 Problem Overview

When viewing your product preview, instead of a rendered JPEG, you may see:

Document 1 - Font not installed - Archivo Condensed Medium (critical error)
Job failed due to one or more critical errors

This happens because the template is using fonts that are not included in your project’s font folder.

🧠 Why This Happens

uDesignIt requires that all fonts used in a template be included in the project itself. If the system cannot find a required font, it fails to render the preview.

🛠️ How to Fix It

1. Locate Your Project Folder

Navigate to the project folder associated with your uDesignIt template.

2. Check for a “Project Fonts” Folder

Look for a folder named:

Project Fonts

⚠️ Important: The folder name must be exactly “Project Fonts” (title case with a space).

3. Create the Folder (If Missing)

If the folder does not exist:

  • Create a new folder
  • Name it Project Fonts

4. Add Required Font Files

You’ll need to place the actual font files (e.g., .ttf, .otf) used in your template into this folder.

Example fonts:

  • Archivo Condensed Medium
  • Raleway (various weights)

💡 Tip: Finding font files can vary depending on your system:

  • On Windows, fonts are typically located in C:\Windows\Fonts
  • You may need to download fonts again if you don’t have direct access to the files

5. Repackage and Upload

Once the fonts are added:

  1. Repackage your project files
  2. Upload the updated package to the uDesignIt section of the order form editor
  3. Refresh the product page

✅ Expected Result

After completing these steps:

  • The preview should render correctly
  • The “Font not installed” error will be gone

🚀 Summary

If your template preview fails with a font error:

  • Ensure a “Project Fonts” folder exists
  • Add all required font files
  • Re-upload and refresh

That’s it—your template should now render as expected 👍
