Your website's top navigation bar comes with six built-in tabs — Products, Services, Resources, Help Center, About Us, and Contact Us. If one more spot is needed in that bar for something those don't cover Who We Serve or industry-vertical focused pages, a seasonal promotion, a partner page, a "Request a Quote" link, testimonials, a file upload tool — a Custom Tab can be added.
A Custom Tab can work two ways:
Dropdown tab — hover/tap opens a menu of pages to choose, just like the built-in tabs.
Link tab — a single tab that goes straight to one destination, with no dropdown menu.
This article walks through setting it up either way.
Above: Example of a Custom Tab called ‘Additional Info’
Where to Find It
Log in to the Control Center.
Route to Web Pages → Navigation Tabs.
Click Custom Tab in the Navigation Tabs list.
Step 1: Name the Tab
Type the label you want printbuyers to see in ‘Tab Label’.
Tip: If you use one of the built-in names (Products, Services, Resources, Help Center, About Us, Contact Us), you'll see a warning that a built-in tab already uses that name. You may still save it, but printbuyers may see two tabs with the same label — so a distinct name is usually cleaner approach.
Step 2: Turn on the Tab
Use the ‘Turn Tab On/Off’ toggle to make the tab visible on the live website. Printers can turn this off any time to hide the tab without losing any of the pages or settings that have been configured for it.
Step 3: Choose Where It Appears
Use ‘Place This Tab After’ to choose which built-in tab the Custom Tab should appear next to in the navigation bar (for example, choosing "Contact Us" puts your Custom Tab immediately after Contact Us).
Step 4: Choose Dropdown Pages OR a Single Link
This setting decides whether the Custom Tab is a dropdown or a link:
To make a dropdown: leave ‘Link Target’ blank, and check the pages below you want in the dropdown menu (see Step 5).
To make a single link: leave the page checklist below empty, and enter a destination in ‘Link Target’.
If both a link target and select pages is filled in, the page dropdown takes precedence — ‘Link Target’ is ignored.
Link Target accepts:
A page on the website site (a relative path)
A full web address starting with http:// or https://
A phone number link starting with tel:
An email link starting with mailto:
A same-page anchor starting with # (for example, a "jump to" link or a popup trigger)
Other link types (for example javascript: links) aren't allowed for security reasons.
