Message Storage on Server IMAP vs. POP3 Functionality Attachment Size Spam Filtering Virus Protection Safe List Vacation Messages & Forwarding Administrative Access

The following information provides details and specifications for your e-mail accounts through MarketingIdeasForPrinters.com.

Message Storage on Server

  • Retention: Unlimited.
  • Messages remain on the mail server until:
    • Retrieved by your e-mail software (if set to remove messages immediately or within a set number of days), or
    • Deleted manually through the webmail interface.

IMAP vs. POP3 Functionality

  • POP3: Downloads messages from the server to your device.
  • IMAP: Keeps all messages stored on the mail server, allowing access from multiple devices.

Note: If you are a high-traffic e-mail user, consider upgrading to a larger capacity. Messages sent to a full mailbox will not be accepted.

Both IMAP and POP3 are supported by the mailboxes we host for you. Choose the one that best fits your workflow.

Attachment Size

  • Limit: Up to 50 MB (sending and receiving) when using our mail servers.
  • If you use your Internet Service Provider’s SMTP server, attachment limits are set by your ISP.

Spam Filtering

  • Default setting: Low (catches obvious spam).
  • Options available:
    • High: Catches the most spam (recommended).
    • Exclusive: Only allows e-mail from addresses on your Safe List.
    • Disabled: No spam filtering.

All settings can be managed under Account Options in the webmail interface.

  • Spam protection is provided at no additional charge.

Virus Protection

  • Every e-mail account is protected by server-level virus protection software.
  • Local antivirus software is still recommended for protection from threats outside of e-mail.
  • Virus protection is provided at no additional charge.

Safe List

  • Add trusted e-mail addresses or domains to your Safe List.
  • Ensures important messages are not marked as spam.
  • Managed under Account Options in the webmail interface.

Vacation Messages & Forwarding

  • Vacation Messages (Auto-Responders): Automatically reply to incoming messages while you are away.
  • E-mail Forwarding: Forward messages to another account.
  • Both can be set in Account Options through the webmail interface.

Administrative Access

  • Administrative access to your domain’s e-mail account via web interface is available upon request.
