Accounting: Credit Memos

Odyssey allows users to add credit to a customer's account, which could be applied to future orders. A future order by the same print buyer can have credit applied when receiving a future payment.


  • Select the 'Accounting' tab
  • Select 'Credit memos'
  • Select a customer from the drop-down under 'Customer'
    • The customer's named saved address will automatically show under 'Billed To:'
  • Enter in the credit memo date under 'Date'
  • Select 'Add a product' to add a line item to the credit memo
  • Enter in a product name (or select from the drop-down)
  • Select the box under 'Taxes' if the credit is taxable
  • Enter a 'Description' (optional)
  • Enter the quantity under 'Quantity'
  • Enter the rate under 'Rate'
  • The 'Amount' field will automatically populate based on the quantity and rate entered
  • Enter in the amount of credit under 'Amount'
  • Provide any necessary additional detail under 'Additional credit memo information'
  • Select 'Save' if a PDF is not needed at this time
  • Select 'Save and print' if you would like to view & save the credit memo PDF at the same time
  • Select 'Save and send' to view & save the credit memo PDF as well as to email the credit memo to the customer.
  • Select 'Clear all' to clear all previously entered/selected information
  • Select 'Cancel' to return to the 'Credit memo library' screen

  • Select 'Credit memo library' to view past credit memos saved for customers.
  • Enter a keyword, select a status (Open or Applied) and a start and end date to narrow down specific credit memos based on these filters.
  • To batch print or send more than one credit memo at a time, select the checkboxes to the left of each credit memo and select Batch actions > Print or Send.
    • Upon selecting 'Send', ensure the information is correct on the 'Send email' screen
    • Select 'Send email' for Odyssey to send the credit memos to the customer's email.
  • Select 'Print' next to a previously added credit memo to print credit memo PDF.
  • Select 'Edit' under the 'Print' drop-down to edit a previously created credit memo.
  • Select 'Send' under the 'Print' drop-down to send a previously created credit memo via email to the customer.
