Promotional codes (available through the E-Commerce Suite add-on) give you the ability to reward your most loyal customers with special discounts, or to gain new customers with special promotional pricing. As with Shipping and Billing options, setting up Promotional Codes is a two-step process. You first set up the Promotional Code, then you activate it for the users that are allowed to use it.

How to Create A Promotional Code
- Choose "My Website" from the Control Center's top menu.
- Choose "E-Commerce Settings" from the sidebar menu.
- Choose "Promotional Codes" From the E-Commerce Settings menu.
- Type a name for your Promotional Code in the "Promotional Code Name" field.
- Type any combination of letters and/or number that the customer should type to apply the code.
- Select a discount type from the pulldown menu:
% Discount: Choosing this option opens up two additional fields:
- Discount Amount - Type the amount to be discounted (for a 5% discount, just type 5).
- Maximum Dollar Amount - If you'd like to set a cap on the maximum discount allowed, enter it here. Otherwise, leave blank for no limit.
Flat Rate Discount: Use this option to set up a discount of a certain amount. For a $20 discount, just type 20.
- Click the blue "Create New Promotional Code" button when finished.
-
NOTE: Simply creating a Promotional code does not activate it on your website; you must first assign the code. There are 3 different ways to assign your Promotional code:
- To all (or just specific) Customers
- To a Product Category (available to all customers using any Order Form under that Category)
- To a specific Order Form (available to all customers using that particular Order Form)

How Your Customers Use Promotional Codes
The customer will have an opportunity to enter a promotional code to left of the 'Complete Order' button when they are completing their shopping cart. If they type an incorrect code, the system will allow them to try again. If no codes are available to them, the promotional code section will not appear at all.
When a customer enters a valid promotional code, their discount is located on the 'Discount' line, and the discount is automatically applied to their order before they submit it. One promo code is valid per user checkout.
