Use the uDesignIT! tab to connect an order form to a Pageflex Studio project. You’ll find this tab in the Order Form Editor when editing a public order form and in the Reorder Form Editor when editing a reorder form.

A connected project lets customers personalize products such as business cards or postcards, enabling variable data printing and customer-personalized templates. The Pageflex Studio project controls the template and the jobs used to generate proofs and production files.

Select an Existing Pageflex Studio Project

1. Open the order form you want to edit and select the uDesignIT! tab.

2. Select a previously uploaded Pageflex Studio project from the list.

3. Review the jobs available in the Pageflex Studio Proof Job (JPG):, Pageflex Studio Proof Job (PDF):, and Pageflex Studio Production Job: dropdowns. These options come from the selected project.

4. Select ‘Save’.

Upload a New Project

1. Select the purple ‘Browse…’ button within ‘Pageflex Studio Project .ZIP file:’.

2. Choose the Pageflex Studio project’s .zip file and select ‘Open’.

3. After the project list refreshes, select the uploaded project from the Pageflex Studio Project: dropdown.

4. Review the available Pageflex Studio Proof Job (JPG):, Pageflex Studio Proof Job (PDF):, and Pageflex Studio Production Job: jobs.

If you’re uploading a new version of an existing project, confirm that the correct ‘Pageflex Studio Project’ and the three jobs (JPG, PDF, and Production) are selected before saving.

5. Select ‘Save’.

Assign Proof and Production Jobs

Use the dropdowns to select the appropriate Pageflex job for each output:

• JPEG Proof: Creates an image preview of the personalized product.
• PDF Proof: Creates a PDF proof.
• Production PDF: Creates the PDF used for production.

Select Save after assigning the jobs.

This ensures the system generates the correct proofs and final production file when customers place orders.

Customer View Example

When viewing a product configured with uDesignIt:

• The product pulls directly from the connected Pageflex Studio project.
• The selected template loads automatically.
• All variable data fields entered by the customer populate in real time.
• The preview reflects the exact information entered into the form fields.

For example, in a business card setup:

• The customer enters their name, title, phone number, etc.
• The information dynamically appears on the card preview.
• The generated proof and production files use that submitted data.
