You can add a flat-fee upcharge for Turnaround Times in the Global Questions of your website, following the steps provided in this Knowledge Base article (Click on the "Price a Global Question" link at the top: /en_US/12) but this only allows for a flat-fee amount per Turnaround Time selection.

But what if you get a 10,000 Quantity Rush-Order that needs to be done in 1 day? Chances are, you will need to upcharge more than just $25 for the Rush on the Order. Therefore, our: 'Advanced Pricing: Calculator' system, found in the Order Form->Pricing view, offers a way to do a Percent (%) Markup. The percentage is then based on the calculated cost of the Order provided by the 'Advanced Pricing: Calculator' via the individual subtotals of the calculator.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to have the "E-Commerce Suite" add-on in order to use the percent-based markups for Turnaround Times.

  1. Setup a Percent-based Markup
  2. Create Subtotal for Turnaround Times
  3. Setup a Percent-based Discount

1) To Setup a Percent-based Markup:

  • Navigate to an Order Form (Control Center->Order Forms button->Public or Reorder Forms section on the left)
  • "Edit" the Order/Reorder Form:

Editing an Order Form

  • Select the "Pricing" link on the left
  • Select the Radio button for "Advanced Pricing: Calculator":

Order Form Pricing View

Here you can create Subtotals for each question(s) that may influence the pricing on this particular form. For information on how to use the "Advanced Pricing: Calculator", be sure to watch the Video Tutorial 'Pricing: Calculator' shown at the bottom of the left-column in the screenshot above. This video will demonstrate how to setup Subtotals.

2) To Create a New Subtotal for Turnaround Times (once you have created your Subtotals to price the Order Form):

  • Type "Turnaround Times" in the blank box shown below

Creating a new Pricing Subtotal

  • Select "Turnaround Times" under the drop-down for "Add Pricing for Answers to"
  • Select "Add Pricing":

Mapping a Subtotal to an Order Form Question

  • You will see each answer to the Turnaround Times question appear where you can add specific pricing to each.
    1. NOTE: Depending on how to you want to handle percent markups on the particular Order Form you are working on, you may not want to do markups for Economy but markups for the Express/Rush options.
  • For whichever Turnaround Times options you want to add a markup for, enter the percent markup in the: "Setup Charge...and/or ___ % of previous subtotals" field and then select the green "Update" button on each answer once complete:

Adding Percent Markups to the Pricing Subtotal

  • Select the "Update" button, which saves the pricing.
    • Select "View" the Order Form, after you have 'Updated' each answer.
    • You can see how the pricing changes when you increase the Quantity.

Keep in mind, the Turnaround Times Subtotal will only calculate a percent markup/discount based on the subtotals listed above Turnaround Times. Therefore, if you want it to calculate a percent based on the total cost of the order, then the Turnaround Times Subtotal should be the last subtotal in the list.

3) To Setup a Percent-based Discount:

You may also add a discount (using a negative percentage) if the customer chooses the 5 day Turnaround (or whatever you are willing to offer a discount for, if the customer gives you what you consider to be a standard turnaround selection):

Adding a Percent Discount to the Pricing Subtotal

NOTE: You can add Percent-based Markups/Discounts on any question on an Order Form rather than just Turnaround Times using the Advanced Pricing: Calculator option.
