Open the Shopping Cart Question Editor Add a Question Edit a Question Require an Answer Change the Question Order Remove a Question Assign Shopping Cart Questions to a Company, Branch, or Contact Email Newsletter Opt-In at Checkout

Shopping cart questions let you collect information that applies to an entire order during checkout. For example, you might ask for delivery instructions or a reference number that does not belong on an individual order form.

Every shopping cart includes an Additional Comments or Instructions question by default. You can add questions, choose how clients answer them, and arrange the order in which they appear.

Open the Shopping Cart Question Editor

1. In the Control Center, select Accounts from the top menu.

2. Select Account Settings from the sidebar.

3. Choose Shopping Cart Questions.

4. Select Manage Shopping Cart Questions.

Add a Question

1. Within ‘Manage Shopping Cart Questions’, select Ask a New Question.

2. Complete the fields that apply to your question:

  • Your Question: Enter the question clients will see at checkout.
  • Question Format: Choose a text field for an open-ended response or a checkbox, pulldown menu, or radio button for selectable answers.
  • Answers: For questions with selectable answers, enter each option on its own line.
  • Default Value: For Text Input questions, enter a suggested answer if helpful. Clients can change it.
  • Instructional Text: Add guidance that clients can view in a help bubble.

3. Select Save.

Edit a Question

1. Select ‘Manage Shopping Cart Questions’

2. Select ‘edit’ beside the question.

3. Make the needed changes and select Save.

Require an Answer

Questions are optional by default. To make an answer required before a client can submit an order:

1. Select ‘Manage Shopping Cart Questions’

2. In the ‘Required’ column to the left of the question, turn the setting ‘on’.

Change the Question Order

1. Select ‘Manage Shopping Cart Questions’

2. Click and hold the four-arrow icon that appears.

3. Drag the question to its new position and release it.

Remove a Question

1. Select ‘Manage Shopping Cart Questions’

2. Select 'remove' beside the question.

3. Confirm the removal when prompted.

Removing a question stops it from appearing on future orders. It remains visible on previously placed orders that included it.

Assign Shopping Cart Questions to a Company, Branch, or Contact

You can set up shopping cart questions for a specific company, branch, or contact.

1. In the People search in the lower-left corner, select a company, branch, or contact. You can also start typing to see matching results.

2. Confirm that the intended company, branch, or contact is selected.

3. Select Use the Shopping Cart Questions defined below:.

4. Select Override Default Questions.

5. In Shopping Cart Questions, add, edit, or remove questions for the selected company, branch, or contact.

6. After adding or editing a question, select Save. To remove a question, select OK, go ahead when prompted.

Above: Select ‘Save’ to add or edit a question

Above: Select ‘remove’ then ‘ok, go ahead’ to remove a question

With the same company, branch, or contact still selected, review the questions to confirm your changes.

Email Newsletter Opt-In at Checkout

If you subscribe to the Printer at Work email newsletter, you can display an Email Newsletter Opt-In checkbox during checkout.

1. Select Manage Shopping Cart Questions.

2. Under Allow Email Newsletter Opt-In, turn the setting to ‘yes’ (on) or ‘no’ (off).

When the setting is on, customers can use the checkbox to opt in to the newsletter.

The example cart checkout screen below shows how the shopping questions appear to printbuyers.
