Custom order forms give you the ability to create specialized order forms that are highly tailored to the way you do business. Our convenient tools allow you to build your order forms from scratch without having to know any web programming at all.
How to create custom order forms
You can create your own order forms, and there are two different ways to go about it: you can add one while you are viewing the order forms within a category, or you can build the order form directly and assign it to a category later. Both approaches accomplish the same thing, just in a different order (choose/create a category, then build the order form versus build the order form, then choose/create a category).
Building the form directly within a category
- Choose "Order Forms" from your Control Center's main menu
- Select "Product Categories", located in the sidebar under "Public Order Forms"
- Choose "Edit" to the right of the category name
- Select the "Manage Forms" tab in the upper left of the category details
- Select the "Add New Custom Form" button at the bottom of the page
- Use the Public Order Form Editor tools to build the order form to your specifications
Building the form before assigning to a category
- Choose "Order Forms" from your Control Center's main menu
- Select "Order Forms", located in the sidebar under "Public Order Forms"
- Select the "Create New Order Form" button, located at the top of the page.
- Use the Public Order Form Editor tools to build the order form to your specifications
How customers access custom order forms
Custom public order forms appear in the same locations on your website as your system order forms:
- In the home page products list...
- ...on the "Products" drop down menu (when added by you under Web Pages > Navigation Tabs > Printing, the checked Product Categories will appear in the drop down menu)...
- ...and in the full product list, accessed by clicking "View All Products" at the bottom of the Products drop down menu
The next step
There's another order form that is invaluable to your website: private order forms, also called Reorder Form Library items. Our next article shows how those are set up and assigned to customers, and how the customer views them.
